phpDesigner is exactly what I have been looking for in years! I cannot believe I had not found this until now! Has EVERY feature that I need, namely language-specific syntax highlighting on the fly, tab-indention, debugging in multiple browsers, highly useable find & replace, intuitive user interface that is BEAUTIFUL, just BEAUTIFUL...

Personally, I am quite sick of IDE/editors that lack the eye-candy, but phpDesigner has no problem filling that pet peeve. Back to the functioning - it works like a charm! The memory usage is light in my opinion, especially considering the size of program.

I have not even skimmed the surface, I feel, in terms of the true depth of this program. Oh? I do not think I mentioned that the download is amazingly (!!!) very small. Truly, I am still quite stunned. I'll be using this for every coding language I work with, PHP/(X)HTML/CSS/XML/SQL/JS and as a regular text-editor. Have used many editors, this, by far, is my favourite! BY FAR. BY FAR!

Well, I have been making websites for a long time, seems like forever. A little over 4 years ago, I was finally convinced that I should switch from ASP scripting to PHP programming, and all I can say is wow, I wish I was forced to learn PHP from the beginning, there was no comparison. Anyway, when I was using ASP I used (forget the name) but some tool that came with my Visual Studio 6 CD. It did the syntax highlight and all the good stuff that I liked when I was making a site but when i switched over to PHP I had nothing ... I'm a firm believer in using Notepad or a Notepad type application to make a website instead of some WYSIWYG program (yuck hate those). So yea, here I am using Notepad actually counting the lines when i get an error and believe me that sucks.

Well one day I look on Google and tried many similar notepad applications. Finally, I ran across phpDesigner and I must say I like it! phpDesigner tells you what the function is looking once you type the name of the function in, for example type in echo( and it will tell you it is looking for a string. You cannot find anything better out there. I know that I will always be using this, well on my Windows machines that is!

Now I am sure that phpDesigner is the best, because it really gives the freedom to create our pages!

phpDesigner is an amazing piece of software. It has a clean and easy to navigate user interface. I am surprised at how much space there is for the coding, ToDo list, and Preview windows. Many times with IDE's you get the impression of being in a cramped environment, not so here!
